Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Certification & Tech Innovation Center Co., Ltd. (SMVIC), also known as National Center of Supervision and Inspection on Motor Vehicle Products Quality (Shanghai), is a third-party national laboratory for motor vehicle inspection which, located in Shanghai International Auto City, covers an area of 180,000m2. With total assets of over 1.3 billion yuan, SMVIC features sizeable investment, a full range of tests, sophisticated technology, and comprehensive technical services.
Years of development have secured SMVIC all the national authorizations for automobiles, motorcycles and related components, including Automobile Announcement Tests of MIIT, Vehicle Environmental Protection Directory Test of MEP, Vehicle Fuel Consumption Tests of MOT, CCC Inspection and Test of CNCA for automobile and components. SMVIC also undertakes defective products recall inspection of AQSIQ and imported vehicle verification under national regulations.
Based on domestic and international cooperation over the years, SMVIC has established the Vehicle Export Certification and Inspection Platform (Shanghai), Shanghai NEV and Key Components Testing and Technology Service Platform, Shanghai NEV Industry Tech and Innovation Service Platform, and Shanghai Auto Safety Inspection and Technology Service Platform. Engaged in the formulation, revision and research of various vehicle standards, the company provides consulting and comparative analysis on various standards and regulations for enterprises at home and abroad.
Our Center is also one of the only automobile special measuring instruments verification station authorized by the state. With this authorization, the Center can carry out calibration for special testing equipment and crash test dummies and sensor around all kinds of vehicles, length, mechanical and electrical instruments verification for all types of motor vehicles and parts enterprises, as well as size precision measurement, materials physics and chemistry performance test for different components.
In 2016, SMVIC integrated its testing and technical services through restructuring, based on which to build the customer-oriented and innovation-driven "4+2" service model, including the Vehicle & Components Test Center, the Advance Testing Technology R&D Center, the Calibration and P&C Certification Center, the New Business Expansion and Development Center, the Institute of Testing Apparatus Research and Institute of Motorcycle Test Technology Research.
With industrial development as the orientation, market demand as the driving force, and sustainability as the goal, SMVIC has built upon traditional vehicle test capabilities a new energy vehicle inspection platform for special inspection of new energy vehicles and key components. In addition, the company has stayed abreast of the changes in products and technologies of the automobile industry and, with support from the Advance Testing Technology R&D Center, is building capacities for tests, experiments, technical R&D of intelligent vehicles and key components.
